Summary
We are looking for a Field Application Engineer for the North American market who:
- Wants to make a positive impact and become a critical success factor within a vibrant and talented start-up
- Enjoys working on complex high-speed wireless systems, with state-of-the-art IEEE 802.11ad/ay and 5G NR mmWave RFIC, antenna phased array
- Takes pride in supporting customers (on premises) throughout the design cycle as well as post-production
- Will help recruit, train, & mentor, new local AE & FAE team members
- Is motivated to work in a fast growing start-up environment, with a can-do attitude to tackle any challenges
This position will have lots of room to grow and will be directly reporting into the VP of Marketing & Product Management.
Responsibilities
As an FAE at Pharrowtech, you will take full ownership of:
- Expanding the customer base by turning leads into design-wins
- Ensuring customers’ smooth progress throughout the entire design cycle with Pharrowtech’s mmWave RFIC & phased-array antenna products
- Meeting Pharrowtech NA design-in, design-win and revenue growth yearly objectives
- Recruit, train and mentor new local AE, FAE & business development team members to support NA’s market growth
- Champion internally the customer needs and work with HQ to develop and influence technical solutions such as reference designs or new product ideas
- Contributing to marketing and business development activities:
- Product demos at trade shows or on customer premises
- Lead product marketing meetings at customer
- Develop new accounts’ penetration strategies
- Understand the competitive landscape and continuously work on helping to differentiate Pharrowtech’s mmWave RFIC solutions
- Contribute to deliver the highest quality collateral and documentation to customers
- Advocate internally for documentation improvements on behalf of customers
- As needed, generate, maintain and release customer facing documents such as application notes, reference design packages, implementation notes, help maintain the customer support portal, …
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Strong academic and technical background in electrical engineering. At minimum, a BSEE is required, and an MSEE is preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of related RF semiconductor (field) application engineering supporting customer designs
- Minimum 3 years of customer management experience with proven track record of turning leads into design wins
- Must be able to plan and attend customer meetings with minimal guidance or supervision
- Must have team building and people managerial experience
- Understanding hardware & software RFIC design process (schematic & layout review, bring-up, driver integration, …) is a strong plus
- Experience in mmWave RFIC & phased antenna array hardware design is a strong plus
- Knowledge of 802.11ad/ay & 3GPP 5G technologies is a strong plus
- Knowledge of C and Python scripting is a strong plus
- Fluent with JIRA ticketing system and processes is a plus
- Position is based in the US (location is TBD)
- Coverage area is NA
- Coverage area will be adjusted/reduced based on NA team growth & customer locations
- Will require frequent travel to Pharrowtech’s HQ in Belgium
- Estimated travel time: 30% – 50%
